Why I Preserve Flowers

A flower's life is fleeting.

It emerges from the earth after months of waiting, reaches toward the sun, blooms in all its beauty, and then, often far too quickly, begins to fade. We admire it for a season, perhaps only for a moment, before it returns to the earth once again.

There is something deeply beautiful about that cycle.

And yet, there is also something heartbreaking about it.

So much of life is the same way.

The first wildflowers of spring. A walk through the woods. The garden planted by a grandparent. The bouquet from a wedding day. The flowers gathered during a summer afternoon spent with someone we love.

Moments arrive quietly. They pass quickly. Before we know it, they become memories.

Nature's HandyWork was born from a desire to hold onto those moments just a little longer.

Every piece begins long before it becomes jewelry. It begins in a field, along a riverbank, beneath the shade of a forest canopy, or in a carefully tended garden. The flowers are gathered by hand and thoughtfully pressed, preserving their natural beauty before time can take it away.

From there, each botanical is carefully arranged and preserved within resin. Sterling silver and gold-filled metals are shaped, soldered, and finished by hand. Every detail is considered. Every design is intentional. Every piece is crafted slowly, with care and respect for the beauty it contains.

Because what I create is not simply jewelry.

It is preservation.

It is a reminder that beauty can be fleeting, but the memories attached to it do not have to be.

A pressed flower becomes a keepsake.

A keepsake becomes a story.

A story becomes something that can be carried, worn, and cherished for years to come.

In a world that often moves too quickly, I believe there is value in slowing down. In noticing the flowers growing at our feet. In listening to the birds overhead. In taking the long way home simply because the light is beautiful. In recognizing that the smallest moments are often the ones we remember most.

My hope is that each piece serves as a gentle reminder of that truth.

That nature is worth noticing.

That beauty is worth preserving.

That memories are worth carrying.

And that some moments deserve to stay with us long after the season has passed.

At Nature's HandyWork, I preserve the fleeting beauty of nature so the moments that matter can be carried for a lifetime.

Made slowly.

Made intentionally.

Made to be worn wild.
